AMT Studio School Intensive

June 8th - June 9th, 2024 - APPLY NOW!

AMT Studio School Intensive offers aspiring and experienced artists (18 and older) an opportunity to cultivate skills in acting and movement – what we call acting in form. Through practical exercises, students will develop concentration, ignite imagination, and learn to express themselves physically. Our weekend Intensive focuses on aligning internal intention and conditions with external expression, breaking through limitations, and strengthening the emotion/physicality connection. Key aspects include grounded and truthfully motivated acting and responding engendered by individual and group work, improvisation, scene study, and voice and text exploration. Students will expand their physical capacity by exploring movement fundamentals, conditioning, partnering, and ensemble participation.

The performance work of AMT (American Mime Theatre) is a unique blend and melding of the arts of acting and movement and through its educational division it teaches professionals and non-professionals alike skills which enhance all aspects of a performing arts practitioner.
